Otto Quentin Craig
August 26th, 1919 - February 11th, 2018
Otto Quentin Craig, age 98, of Florence, formerly of Birmingham, passed away February 11, 2018. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother David McKelvey officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama.
Mr. Craig was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. After military service, he worked for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. and retired from the US Postal Service, serving in Birmingham and later in Florence.
Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Craig; daughter, Sherrie Bates; and grand-daughter, Dawn Bates. He is survived by his children, Dwight Craig (Debra) and Ann O’Neal (John); siblings, Vernie Craig, Nolan Craig, Stella Harper and Rachel Vizner; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan O’Neal, Justin O’Neal, David Craig, Edwin Bates, Tommy Bates, Jamie Landers, Tim Landers and Wayne Craig.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Kindred Home Health and Mitchell Hollingsworth for the wonderful care they provided.
