April 24, 1935 - April 26, 2019

James Edwards “Jimmy” Hall, Sr., age 84, left this life and went to be with his Lord on April 26, 2019.  Visitation will be Monday, April 29, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Cypress Creek Methodist Church in Florence.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating.  Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Jimmy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Western Electric.  His hobbies included flying, growing orchids, and singing tenor in the choir.  He was past president of the Florence Exchange Club, where he was a member for many years.  He was currently serving as president of the board at Cypress Creek Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Joan Bobo Hall; daughter, Janice Reese;  son, James Hall; brother, Charles “Pete” Cook; and sister, Ann Cook. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Gail Marshall Hall; daughter, Jeniffer Hall; sons, Jeffery Hall and Marshall McMinds; grandchildren, Pamela McCullum (Jimmy), Tyler Stricklin (Taylor), Haley Mobley, Lauren Kirkland (Brandon), Kristen Reese and Kylie McMinds; and great-grandchildren, Axel, Gage and Zoey. 

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Tyrus Pritchard, Dr. Stanley Clarke, Dr. James Daugherty and Dr. Edsel Holden.

  4. I extend my condolences to the entire Hall family. Your dad was a great school supporter when I was teaching at Brooks and I had a lot of respect for him and for you all. Peace and comfort to you as you deal with his loss. Enjoy the many good memories.
