William Howard (Bill) Broadfoot, Jr. passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, following an extended illness. A native of Florence, Bill was born on December 2, 1933, to Howard and Artie Lou Broadfoot. He graduated from Coffee High School and married Ruth (Rickard) Broadfoot in 1960. Their two children are Lisa (Rod) Whatley and Howard (Laurel) Broadfoot. He is survived by his two sisters Lois (Joel) Linville and Betty Mulvahill. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, June Slatton. Bill was blessed with three grandchildren: Caroline (Jeffrey) Jones, Alex Beumer, and Will Broadfoot; and one great-grandchild, Stella Jones. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Jones, Alex Beumer, David Fenn, and Eric Fenn.
Bill was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years. He retired from the City of Florence Gas Department 24 years ago. Bill’s family would like to thank the physicians and staff at North Alabama Medical Center and the team at Davita Dialysis on Dr. Hicks Blvd. for their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastwood Church of Christ, 102 East Leland Drive, Florence, Alabama 35630. Friends are welcome to sign the registry at wfunerals.com. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Ruth, I am so sorry to hear about Bill’s passing. I worked with him in the early 80’s at the Gas Department. He was such a special man. Prayers for peace and strength for you and your family in the coming days.
