Bert Olive Patterson, age 98, of Florence, passed away February 8, 2022.  A graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Friday, February 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence.   Williams Funeral Home is directing.

Mr.  Patterson was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Hendrix; stepson Dickie Sledge; stepdaughter Elaine Bryant; father John B Patterson; mother Lillie O Patterson; sister Lorene Williamson; and brothers Ruben Patterson, Charles Patterson, Bobby Patterson, Clyde Patterson, Jimmy Patterson.

Survivors Include his sisters Frances Ward, Alice Faulkner; sisters-in-law Ruby Patterson, Janice Patterson, Pearl Patterson, and Glenda Patterson; step-daughter-in-law Sandra Sledge; Many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Patterson was retired with 22 years of Army and Air Force service.  He was a veteran of World War II.  Mr. Patterson earned a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, American Service Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with silver medal and bronze arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, Award of Merit for Heroic Action, National Defense Service Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation.  Mr. Patterson also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp prior to his military service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
