Walter “Doe-Doe” Thomas Hendrix, Jr., age 51, of Florence, Alabama, passed away February 23, 2022. Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home and a service will start at 7:00 pm in the chapel.
Doe-Doe was preceded in death by his father, Walter Hendrix Sr.; grandmother, Rosie Hendrix; sister, Mary Lindsey.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Lucretia; children, Amber Hendrix- Carroll (Patrick) and Steven Hendrix; mother, Doris Herston Hendrix; siblings, Wendell Muse (Robin) and Thenia Allen; grandchildren, Alicia Skye Carroll.
Doe-Doe enjoyed reading comic books and watching cartoons with Alicia Skye. He loved Auburn football and sports. He also enjoyed fishing and being near the water.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Walter he was such a character and loved to laugh and cut up and loved his wife but especially loved his granddaughter more than anything . Lucretia I’m so very sorry for your loss love you.

I’m so sorry for your loss and will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
I remember and knew Walter in his younger years. That cute little boy who lived a few houses up from me playing in the front yard.
He was an old childhood friend. I lived on Prairie when he was on Fultondale. Grew up with him always had a blast always a great guy and kind to everybody. Sorry for the family and condolences to all I know he was a Loved man.
I will miss him more than anybody on this earth. I am glad I had him in my life for 51 years. I will always love you and will always be glad to call you my brother.
Miss you so much.
