Jessie Thompson, age 68, of Florence, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022. Visitation will be Sunday, March 20th, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Alma Hubbard and Pastor Curtis Russell. Burial will be at Bethel Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Williams, and Louisa Thomas; brother, William Thomas, Jr.; and stepfather, William Thomas, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Dreidre Hankins; grandchild, Ladrevon Hankins; cousin like a sister, Alma Hubbard; aunts, Mrs. Williams and Alice Thompson; uncle, Franklin Thomas; special classmate friend, Jerry Thompson; and special friend, Faye Beck Barnett.
He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was 1972 graduate of Bradshaw High School. Jessie was also a member of the Burrell Slater Band and was an excellent swimmer on the W.C. Handy Park and Recreation swim team.
