Shirley was retired with Florence Hospital as a lab tech and was a member of Waynesboro United Methodist Church.
Shirley, aka “Nannie” was a very special lady, always beautiful and put together. But she felt her place was in serving others. Things she LOVED were weekend visits with GREAT grandbabies, and grand children. She loved phone conversations, several daily, often to the SAME people and loved CLEANING! We know she’s in heaven, dusting, running the vacuum or working in the yard cutting limbs or weedeating with her scissors!! That’s what she loved to do. She was ONE of a Kind. Small and feisty, and fought fiercely for what she believed! There will NEVER be another like her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shoals Dream Center.

Kim and Jeff,
I just wanted you to know that I’m thinking and praying for you during this difficult time. I know she will be missed by each of you and her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. It’s such a comfort to know that one day we will be together again and never have to part. May you feel God’s presence during this day and the days ahead.

Kim and family, we are so sad in the passing of your beautiful Mom. She was more than a neighbor and friend to us. Shirley was family. Momma is brokenhearted over the loss of her best buddy..We will miss her dearly and never forget that precious smile. Thank you Shirley for always looking out for Mrs. KIng. Prayers for comfort and strength.
Kim, your Mother was definitely one of kind. Always friendly, concerned about others, and loved her grand babies.
She will be missed.
Kim & Jeff. I want you to know that I love you both like my brother & sister.. Shirley was a very special person to me.. she always treated me as one of the family. This was at a time I needed to feel like I belonged to family. My precious memories of Shirley will be with me for ever. My prayers are with you during this very difficult time. One of a kind is a perfect way to describe this precious lady.
