Lillian Marie Ghrigsby, 80, of Waterloo, passed away April 18, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 – 12:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Florence. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery with Brother Tommy Heaps officiating. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Serving as pallbearers are Christian Irons, Jordan Irons, Stephen Gilchrist, Daniel Gilchrist, James Owens, and Ben Smith.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Ghrigsby; parents, Bill and Lucille Gilchrist; brothers, George Gilchrist, and Danny Gilchrist.

Survivors include her children, Michael Ghrigsby and Tina Hill; sister, Annie Smith (Ben); grandchildren, Jessica Ghrigsby, Jason Glaze, and Kristie Ghrigsby. Additional survivors include great-grandchildren, Christian Irons, Jordan Irons, Alyssa Irons, John Grayson Glaze, Jaymison Glaze, Gabby Glaze, and Gracie Glaze; great-great-grandchildren, Kamrin Irons; sister-in-laws, Rose Green, Plinnie Gilchrist, Katherine Montgomery; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Marie was a loving mother, granny, sister, aunt, and friend. As the oldest sibling she served as mentor and second mother to many family members. She traveled along with her husband to several U.S. ports as he served 20 years in the Navy prior to his retirement. She was loved by all that knew her and will be missed beyond words to express.
