Gustava McDonald Guthrie, age 90, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024. A graveside service will be Monday, May 20th at 1:00 pm at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Brother Sonny Owens officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Mary McDonald; husband, James O. Guthrie; brother, William Coleman McDonald.
Survivors are her son, Michael Wayne Murks (Denise); Her children by marriage, Jamye Hotalen and Bonya Guthrie; granddaughter, Rachel Murks; niece, Sherry Stutts Hatton and cousins.
Gustava was retired with Sears as an Auditor. She was of the Church of Christ Faith.

Dear Guthrie family,
I’m sorry to read of your loved one’s passing and may all find comfort in our Lord’s word during this time of sadness.
In John 11:23-26; “Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”.
A wonderful promise from our Lord Jesus that we can believe and have confidence in.
May all find peace in knowing our loved ones who have passed on are now in the care of our Lord God who has shown his great love for us through his Beloved Son.
Rest in peace dear sister, your reward is waiting.
