  5. I’ll miss “Aunt” Vernette. Sending condolences to her family. I am Myrtice Godsey Hood’s niece and I grew up singing Sacred Harp music and attended Friendship Church with Aunt Myrtice. We would often see Vernette at the decoration Sunday for the Friendship cemetery where Myrtice and her husband Henry Hood are buried. I recently chatted on the phone a couple of times and she shared her memories of her parents and grandparents. She was an amazing woman.
