Albert "Pete"
Davis
October 1, 1942 - September 8, 2024
Albert Franklin Davis, or as many knew him – Pete, passed away peacefully at his
daughter’s home in Florence, AL on September 8 th at the age of 81. Born in Sheffield,
AL, he spent his younger years working hard at Reynolds before moving to Franklin, TN
in 1986. After retiring from Essex, where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor, Pete
returned to the Shoals area and settled back in Sheffield until he moved in with his
daughter and son-in-law.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Pride Holland Bishop and Charles
“Chuck” Davis, and his brother, Chester Davis. He leaves behind his three daughters –
Teresa May, Candace Irons, and Leigh Moody (Les), as well as his five beloved
grandchildren Crystal Holt (Jon), Brady Irons, Chad Hennessee (Erica), Tyler Cruse,
James Irons; five great-grandchildren – Aubrey Holt, Riley Holt, Preston Slay, Jonah
Holt, Jack Holt; and a great-great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Holt.
Despite all his accomplishments, Pete’s greatest treasure was his three daughters,
whom he loved more than anything. They will always remember him as a caring and
passionate father who knew how to fix just about anything.
Pete had a few favorite pastimes that he loved to pursue—one of which was spending
as much time as possible on the golf course. Pete also had an undeniable knack for
repairing anything and could easily fix even the most challenging objects. He loved
classic cars and spent many evenings playing cards with his friends.
Pete’s memory will be remembered and revered by his loved ones, friends, and all
those who knew him. To honor his memory, a celebration of his life will be at Williams
Funeral Home on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2 pm. Before the service, there will
be a visitation from 12 to 2 with the burial to follow at Tri-Cities memorial gardens. Let’s say one final goodbye to the man who lived life to the fullest and spread joy in everything he did.
