James (Jimmy) Roger Clemons, 74, of Florence, passed away suddenly at his residence, November 7, 2024. Visitation will be Monday, November 11 at Williams Funeral Home from 11:00 – 1:00 pm with the service starting at 1:00 pm. Sloan Dickerson will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Richardson Cemetery – Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Opal Clemons and daughter, Melanie Caddell.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Donna Clemons; daughters, Ginger Thompson (Jimmy), Ashley Scott and son in law, Allen Caddell. Additional survivors include his sister, Patsy Dickerson (and the late Barry); grandchildren, Morgan Caddell, Marena Ray, Coleman Caddell, Savana Caddell, Andon Thompson, Ali Thompson, and Hayden Scott; great-grandchildren, Adalyn Caddell, soon-to-be, Ralph James Caddell and Case Butler Ray; niece, Sheena Burgreen; and nephew, Sloan Dickerson.

Jimmy graduated from Waterloo High School in 1968 and shortly afterwards joined the National Guard in 1969. He was a member of The Methodist Church. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing. With thirty-eight years of service in the Florence Fire Department, he took immense pride in his role, always committed to serving and protecting his community.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Thompson, Johnny Muse, Phillip Williams, Coleman Caddell, Allen Caddell, and Morgan Caddell. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Frankie Willard, Grady Smith, Tommy McIntyre, Johnny Devaney, Jamie Kirby, Rickey Mathis, Ricky C. Wood, Jim Wallace, and the Florence Fire Department team and members.

  2. We are so sorry to hear that another classmate and friend has passed. Jimmy & Jerry joined the National Guard along with Ricky Wood & Kenneth Arnold in 1969. The four spent their Basic Training and AIT together on the same Army Base, Ft. Gordon, Georgia. Jimmy was such a good man. Many fond memories from High School & Basic Training. Our love and prayers go out to Patsy & Jimmy’s family. Phil. 1:3 “I thank my God every time I remember you”.
