Morgan Riley
Caddell
May 4, 1993 - January 12, 2025
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Morgan Riley Caddell, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left this world unexpectedly on January 12, 2025, at the age of 31. Morgan was born on May 4, 1993, in Florence, Alabama, and he lived a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion to those around him.
Morgan was the cherished son of Kevin Shannon, Allen Caddell and the late Melanie Caddell. His mother, Melanie, who preceded him in death, was a guiding light in his life, along with his grandfathers, Jimmy Clemons and Ralph Shannon. Morgan’s legacy continues through the many lives he touched and the family he adored. He is survived by his loving wife, Hayley Caddell, and their two precious children, Adalyn Joy Caddell and Ralph James Caddell, who were the center of his world.
In addition to his immediate family, Morgan leaves behind his father, Kevin Shannon (Stephanie), his step-dad, Allen Caddell, his grandmothers, Susie Clemons and Shirley Shannon, and his siblings: brothers Coleman Caddell (Reagan), Elijah Shannon, and Jeremiah Shannon, as well as sisters Marena Ray (Jody) and Savanna Caddell (Sam). He also shared a deep bond with his aunts, Ginger Thompson (Jimmy), Mindy Newton (Mark), Lisa Brooks (Ken), and uncle Chris Shannon (Malee). Morgan’s love extended to his nephew, Case Ray, and numerous cousins, with a special tribute to Andon Thompson and Sloan Dickerson. Additionally, he had a lifelong friendship with his best friend, Forrest Burgess, who stood by him through the years, and he shared a special companionship with his beloved dog, Sue.
Morgan graduated from Waterloo High School in 2011, and he took great pride in his work as a machinist. He was a dedicated professional, completing his third year with Consolidated Tool, proudly following in his family’s footsteps as a third-generation machinist. His passion for his work was matched only by his love for the great outdoors. Morgan was an adventurous spirit who enjoyed hiking, camping, and gathering around the fire. He had a unique talent for finding firewood and would often wander off at gatherings to prepare a warm fire for all to enjoy.
His hobbies reflected his adventurous nature; he was an avid knife collector and thrived on the thrill of thrift shopping. For Morgan, every trip to a thrift store or yard sale was an exciting adventure, filled with the possibility of uncovering hidden treasures.
Morgan’s devotion to his family was unparalleled. He cherished the life he built with Hayley over their six beautiful years of marriage, and his children, Adalyn and Ralph, were the pride and joy that completed his life. To know Morgan was to understand the depth of his love for his family, as he found true fulfillment in their laughter and happiness.
A graveside service will be held for immediate family on January 19, 2025, at 2:00p.m. at Richardson Cemetery in Waterloo, Alabama. Friends and family are invited to join together following the service at 3 p.m. to honor Morgan’s memory and share in the love and joy he brought to our lives at the Waterloo community center.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Williams Funeral Home and the first responders in Greenhill for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
Morgan Riley Caddell will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, knowing he touched so many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
