Nancy Katherine Marie Vandiver Kerby, age 89, of Florence, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025. A public visitation will be Tuesday, February 18^th, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. A private service will follow. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Stacey Hanna, Tyler Reeves, Gene Purdy, Nicholas Henry, Greg Henry, Jessie Purdy, Logan Chaney, Isach Elliot, and Jonathan Kerby; Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, neighbors, and Stanley Tompkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Earl Kerby; parents, Ross and Katie Vandiver; brothers, Ross Vandiver, Jr. (Carolyn), Truman Vandiver, and Abraham Vandiver (Earnestine); brother-in-law, Ralph Andrews.

Survivors are her children, David Kerby (Kerry), Debbie Kerby Dixon, and Dwight Kerby (DeaLynn); sister, Joyce Andrews; sisters-in-law, Olene Freeman and Dorothy Vandiver; grandchildren, Stephanie Tompkins, Jessica Purdy (Gene), Desiree Hanna, Karah Henry (Greg), Beth Riley (James), Justin Kerby (Brandy), and Jonathan Kerby; greatgrandchildren, Devin Elliot (Isach), Anna  Purdy (Logan), Kylie Carter (Ian), Tyler Reeves (Del), Andrew Kerby, Jessie Purdy, Nicholas Henry, Cadence Kerby, and Jaxson Kerby; great-great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Aurora, and Ophelia; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Peggy Hines.

Nancy had a deep fondness for lace tablecloths and linen, always keeping her flyswatter within reach for the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her face would light up the most when surrounded by family, especially her grandkids and great-great-grandkids. No one dared change the channel from Channel 49 Fox News without her say-so. She will always be remembered for her love of dusters, extra gravy, brown biscuits, scrambled eggs, a bit of fussing, and the music of The Gaither’s.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Amedisys home heath and Gentiva hospice. We thank Emma, Brittany, Brayden, Gary, and Christie Bethel Smith. Along with Dr. Danny McFall for his excellent care over the years.
