Heaven gained one of its kindest and gentlest souls on June 18, 2018, when Mabeth Leigh Jones, 89, made her entrance.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 20, from 11:00-1:00 at Spry-Williams Funeral Home of Florence, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Matthew Rose officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia.

A resident of Muscle Shoals, she was a beloved teacher of countless middle and high school students and taught Sunday School most of her life. Her devotion to God and her family was evident in everything she did. She told vivid stories of her childhood and was a talented writer who loved bluegrass music, traveling, and big Christmas celebrations. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her parents, W. R. and Anna Doss. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Yarbrough Brazelton (Joe) and Janet Yarbrough Kirk of Muscle Shoals, son Ricky Jones (Laura) of Lexington; grandchildren Amy Little, Anna Beth Rose, William Kirk, Taylor Jones, and Lauren Brewer; and eight great-grandchildren.
