David was born in Los Angeles, California on September 22, 1933. He attended North Hollywood High School and the University of Southern California on academic and athletic scholarships. He played on the 1954 USC basketball team that appeared in the Final Four.

He attended USC Dental School and graduated in 1958. He then moved to San Diego to practice dentistry in the Balboa Park area for 40 years. He volunteered for over 20 years as a clinical instructor at USC School of Dentistry.

In 2000, he bought a house in Florence, Alabama to be able to visit his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. They came back 3 months at a time and always enjoyed the spring, fall and holidays spent in the South. Along the way they made some good friends. He especially enjoyed his Tuesday morning Bible study group and was very involved in Shadow Mountain Church in San Diego and Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence.

David was blessed with many excellent caregivers and great care from Affinity Hospice. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In-lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence.
