Glenda H.
Gallien
July 20, 1946 - December 19, 2025
Glenda H. Gallien, age 79, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry R. Gallien; parents, Claude and Willowdean Haddock; mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Hayes Gallien; siblings, Leo C Haddock, Kenneth Haddock, and Larry Haddock.
Survivors are her daughters, Camille Gruber (Steve), and Joli James (Tony); grandchildren, Cecelia Rumph and Julia Rumph; step-grandchildren, Josh Rumph and Beth Rumph Ward; many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly; her lifetime best friends, Pat and Shelby Gargis and her beloved cat, Meow Meow..
Our Mother, better known as Mama, loved Daddy, Joli and me with her whole heart, and was always there for us. She also loved our husbands Steve and Tony with that same kind of love, as her sons.
She was also Mama to everyone who has ever walked into our house.
It would be impossible to count how many children she has been Mama to over the years.
She loved to cook for an army and was happy to feed family, friends, and anyone else who happened to pop in hungry.
There was always a pot of coffee ready. Mama and Daddy were always glad to sit for hours in the kitchen with whoever dropped by to visit.
Our doors were always unlocked. We never knew who might be asleep on our couch when we woke in the morning because their home was a welcoming place to anyone who might need a place to call home just for the night or for as long as they needed.
In the more recent years, Mama and Daddy most loved the visits and spend the night parties with Cecelia and Julia. The girls, as they called them affectionately, had their hearts, and they told anyone and everyone who would listen about them.
You could see the joy on Nanny and PawPaw’s faces when “the girls” were around.
As much as Mama loved all those things, her favorite place to be in the entire world was fishing! Whether it be in a boat, on a pier or just sitting on the riverbank she was in her Happy Place!!
She did not even care if she didn’t get one bite. She was at total peace with a fishing pole in her hand.
I know that she is at peace now and I am really hoping that she will be able to fish in heaven.
I want to give a sincere thank you to Affinity Hospice for being so amazing during this difficult year.
And Most Importantly… I want to thank Angie Threet with all my heart for being the most outstanding and loving caregiver. She went above and beyond to give Mama the very best of care while also allowing her to keep her dignity throughout these difficult months.
Angie was for sure sent by God, not only for my parents but also for me.Mama…forever in my heart,
Camille
