PFC Andrew Phillip Wilson, age 24, passed away on January 3, 2026, at his home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Highland Baptist Church, 219 Simpson Street, Florence, Alabama 35630. The service will follow at 11:00 am with Chris Underwood officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Pallbearers will be PVT Caden Viruet, SPC Kolten Wright, SPC Jonathan Moran, PFC Justin Vecchio, Hampton Goodson and Bob Rich. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Goodson, Arya Sandella, Dunley Stults, Whitney Stults, SFC Jesse Smith, SPC David Modigliani, PFC Sam Spaetti, PV2 Thomas Collins, PFC Michael Erwinski, SGT Daniel Miller, and SPC Nick Crawford.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Glen and Carlene Rich, Claude Bratton and Golena Bratton.
Andrew is survived by his mother Randa Bratton Wilson; grandparents Randy and Alice Bratton; numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins and a host of friends from early childhood, high school, college and his time in the Army.
Andrew was a lifelong sports fanatic whose love for athletics began at an early age. From age three through age twelve, he played football, basketball and baseball, developing a passion for competition, teamwork, and dedication. He continued playing football and basketball at Florence Middle School and Florence High School, where his commitment and spirit were evident on and off the field.
Andrew attended Riverhill School and Florence Middle School before graduating from Florence High School in 2020. During his high school years, he was recognized for his academic achievement when inducted into the National Honor Society, and he was selected to attend Boys State in 2019. That same year, he completed Youth Leadership Shoals, reflecting his leadership abilities and strong character.
Following high school, Andrew attended Auburn University from August 2020 through May 2024. In September 2024, he answered a call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. He successfully completed Basic Training at Fort Benning in Columbus Georgia, followed by Airborne School. Andrew was then transferred to Fort Bragg, where he served with the 4th Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group, Alpha Company.
Andrew will be remembered for his love of sports, his dedication to leadership and service, and his determination to pursue excellence in all areas of his life. His presence, passion, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the United States Army Casualty Assistance Team, especially Casualty Assistance Officer CPT Marco Zamora, for the compassion, professionalism, and dignity they showed Andrew and the family during the most difficult time of their lives.
