Johnny McKinley
Blackstock

December 14, 1945 - January 28, 2026

John “Johnny” McKinley Blackstock, age 80, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. He was born on December 14, 1945, and lived a life defined by love of family, service to his country, and loyalty to those he cared about.

Johnny was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, a role he carried with quiet pride throughout his life. He worked for many years at Wise Alloys as a heavy equipment operator, where he was known as dependable, hardworking, and steady—just like he was at home.

He was a faithful member of Faith Church and Corvette Shoals, where he enjoyed the fellowship and friendships that came with both. Of all his hobbies, none meant more to him than fishing with his grandson, Isaac. Those days on the water were some of his happiest moments and created memories that will be treasured forever.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Linville Blackstock and Clifford Blackstock, and by his beloved son, Randy Yarber. He is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Pounders Blackstock; his daughter, Lori Blackstock Coosenberry (Greg); and his stepchildren, Tim Causey (Richard), Sherry Colwill (Brian), and Cindy Harrison (Joe). He is also survived by his siblings, Diane Blackstock Wilkes (Grant) and Donnie Blackstock (Sonya). Johnny leaves behind his grandson, Isaac Coosenberry (Lakin), and his step-grandchildren, Magen Minor (Chad), Lindsey Bennett, Drew Harrison, Zena Colwill, Murphy Harrison (Alissa), and Sydney Teneycke (Kelsey).

Johnny will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had a steady presence, a quiet strength, and a deep love for his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the values he passed down.
