Charles Edward Hoard, age 78, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on March 16, 2026. Visitation was held privately.  Graveside services will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery, 2545 Holmes Road, Memphis, TN 38118, on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with William Cole officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his father Aubrey Hoard, his mother, Lessie Capps Hoard. Brother, Phillip Hoard.  And his stepmother Rometa Cole Hoard.

Charles is survived by his stepbrothers: William Cole (Violet) of Corinth, MS and Floyd Cole (Karen) of Memphis, TN.  Step nephew, Matt Cole and caregivers, Shirley, Shelley, Amanda, and Penny.

Charles was born February 16, 1948, in Memphis, TN. In 1968, Charles graduated from Whitehaven High School in Memphis. Shortly after, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam until being severely injured and honorably discharged. Charles received a purple heart for his injuries. He was a member of Mars Hill Church of Christ.
