Ethel Beatrice Winters, 86, of Florence, passed away October 5, 2026. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Thursday in the chapel at noon with Dan Green officiating and burial following in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Helen Roberts (Thomas); brother, Mike Roberts; great-grandson, Billy Griffis; and honorary grandson, Justin Tatum.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Lisa Rickard (Troy); sister-in-law, Patsy Roberts; grandchildren, Ethan Rickard (Jessica) and Emily Griffis (Branden); and great-grandchildren, Sonni Beth Griffis, Ross Rickard, and Lane Rickard; and special friend, JD Choat.
Ethel was a member of The Church of Christ.
Pallbearers are Troy Rickard, Ethan Rickard, Branden Griffis, Stephen Smith, Seth Moody, and Colt Abernathy.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Mann for years of exceptional care, fifth floor nurses at NAMC and Gentiva for their kindness, care, and compassion.

My heart is broken over the passing of my beautiful friend. Ethel is one that left the biggest imprint on my college life. Working with her and our “shenanigans” were the best! Thank you, Ethel for always loving and teaching me more than you will ever know. I will always love you.
