Margie Elaine Owen, 81, of Florence, passed away October 7, 2026. Visitation will be Monday-October 12 at Williams Funeral Home from 10:00 – 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow in Lone Cedar Cemetery with Brother Tim Grigsby officiating.

She is preceded in death by her father, AD Owen; mother, Esther Owen; sisters, Faye Trotter, Shirley Chamblis; and brother, Tommy Owen.

Margie is survived by her best friend and caregiver, Bettye Holcomb; nieces, Carol Jackson, Jaki Thorne, and Joi Turnbull; nephews, Zak Trotter, Kevin Francis, and Soul Trotter.

Margie was a faithful member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. She graduated from the University of North Alabama and taught at Sheffield and Hazel Green High Schools before retiring from Auburn University, where she worked as a chemist.
