Kenneth Troy Barnett, age 75, of Florence, passed away June 28, 2018.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be be Sunday, July 1, at 3:00 p.m. at Killen United Methodist Church Life Center, with Brother Bryan McIntyre and Brother Al Geise officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before the service. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Troy was an active member of Killen United Methodist Church and was retired from Printers & Stationers, Inc. with 46 years of service. He loved playing golf and was an avid fan of Alabama and UNA sports. He coached his sons in youth league sports and was instrumental in establishing youth basketball in the Killen area. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling, and watching any activity in which his grandchildren participated.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Dorothy Barnett. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Jean Barnett; sons, Ken (Carrie) Barnett, Max (Whitney) Barnett and Lane (Lana) Barnett; grandchildren, Brady, Lawson and Lauren Barnett; great-granddaughter, Blakely; and brother, Dwight Barnett. Pallbearers are Bob Cox, Eddie Freeze, Mike Johnson, Rex Jones, Larry McCluskey and Leon Smith.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of the MICU at UAB Hospital and Brookwood Hospital Select Specialty. A special thanks is extended to Dr. Lyman Mitchell and Dr. Drew Mitchell for their loving care.

Memorials may be made to the Killen United Methodist Church Building Fund.
