John Thomas Ashley, age 77, of Florence, passed away August 2, 2018. Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2:30 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ashley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of IBEW Local 558. He was a hard working man who loved Alabama football and was devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Ashley; and brother, Charles Ashley. Survivors include his children, Lynn Ashley Hamilton (Wes), Tommy Ashley (Tracy), and David Ashley; grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Hamilton and Conner, Zachary and Tyler Ashley; and brother, Bob Ashley (Ann). Members of the Florence Moose Lodge will serve as honorary pallbearers.
