December 20, 1972 - April 15, 2020

Jason Earl Murphy, age 47, passed away April 15, 2020. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, David Murphy; grandfather, Ralph McGary; grandmothers, Vera Donahue and Lula Murphy; step-grandmother, Margaret McGary; aunt, Barbara Morris and uncle, William McGary; special aunt, Mary Elizabeth Creasy; and cousin, Joel Norton.

Survivors include his mother, Karen Murphy; uncles, Gordon Morris and Mike McGary; niece and nephew Tracy Tate and Gordon Ray Morris; and cousins, Darlene and Eddie McKinney, Connie Norton, Kim and Eddie Vickery, Stacy and Craig Robertson, Heath Peden, Briana Vickery, and Kaleigh, Robbie, Makenzie and Maddox Spencer, and others.

Jason attended Central High School and especially enjoyed playing ball at Underwood Dixie Youth. He loved playing music and was an Elvis fan. He would do anything to help anyone and was devoted to his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
