On March 25, 2022, Willie Katherine Allen departed from her earthly life to go home to be with the Heavenly Father. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home with service starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Bailey’s Chapel.
Willie Katherine was born on November 20, 1946, in Greenhill, Alabama to the late James Preston Allen, Sr. and the late Carrie Lee Allen.
She is preceded in death by ten siblings, Virginia Oates, Maudie Bailey, Pauline Burns, Lucile Liles, Dorothy Word, Marie Bailey, Robert Allen, Howard Allen, Harry Neal Allen, and James Preston Allen, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Melissa Allen; sister, Mary McClain; and sister-in-law, Lucille Allen; many nieces, nephews, three devoted cousins, Pam Towns, Katherine Hubbard, and Roberta Goodloe; three devoted friends, Beth Clark, Janice Lewis, and Miranda Terry.
Mom spent her entire life working very hard from the age of five years old picking cotton in the fields with her other siblings to working in private homes, and in restaurants such as Barbara’s Cafeteria, Jersey Whip, The Peak Coffee Shop inside the old ECM Hospital for eight years, and she also worked in hotels such as Best Western, Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn, and Webster Inn as a Housekeeper and then came back to ECM in 2007 and worked there as a housekeeper until 2009 when her health started going down.
Mom was a very giving and caring person and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need; no one around her went hungry because if you were hungry, she would feed you.

My mother, Katherine Liles- Hubbard, will miss the phone conversation that they enjoyed sharing stories about old times.
