Edgar B. Burgess Jr., (Buster), age 68 of Tuscumbia, passed away April 20, 2022. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Greg Beasley and Allen Scott officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
He is preceded in death by parents, Edgar B. Burgess Sr., and Doris Jeanie Harrison Burgess; sisters, Jeanie Watson; Carrie Keaton; grandparents, T.L. and Nora Harrison; in-laws, Onan C. Scott and Mattie O. Scott.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Charlotte Sue Burgess and his lap buddy, Suzy Q. Other survivors include children, Tim King (Rachel), Marty King (Cindy); siblings, Martha Anderson, Brian Burgess (Lavendar); grandchildren, Forrest Dibiaso and Lucas King; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, a member of Pipe Fitters Local 760 for 43 years, a member of the Masons and York Rite. He was a Jack of all Trades and a Master of None. He enjoyed working on upholstery and was an avid Alabama fan.
Pallbearers include Keith Huntley, Greg Ezell, Brian Burgess, Forrest Dibiaso, Josh Hill, Dennis Scott, Lucas King and Andrew Edwards. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Randy Marvin, Paul Shealy, Joseph Grivalija.
In lieu of flowers you may donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Valley Grove Baptist Church Youth Ministry Summer Camp.

Buster was definitely one of a kind. He truly had a heart of gold. Much love and continued prayers to Charlotte and the rest of the family. I love you all.

So sorry to read of Buster’s passing. Prayers for Charlotte, Martha & all the family. I only knew of him through Dana, but I know he will be missed by all of you. May God comfort you now and in the days to come.
