Linford Claude Rickard, Sr., 82 of Florence passed away April 10, 2023. Visitation will be Friday, April 14, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home Chapel. The service will immediately follow with Justin Pannell officiating.

He is preceded in death by his father, Claude Rickard; mother, Kathleen Rickard; and son-in-law, Jimmy D. Hitt.

Mr. Rickard is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Talley Rickard; son, Bart Rickard; daughters, Jennifer Hitt and Janet Ralph (Duane); sister, Janey Wright (Tim); grandchildren, William Justin Hitt, Benjamin Jacob Hitt, (Rebekah), and Jamie Ralph. Additional survivors include great-grandchildren, Glory, Oak, Elijah, and Nora Kate Minor; nephew, Ethan Wright; nieces, Cindy Rhodes and Candy Allen; and a whole host of Talley’s.

He was a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ and was an elder at 53^rd Avenue Church of Christ, Bradenton, Florida. He started working at WOWL – Chanel 15 in Florence where he met the love of his life, Peggy. He also worked at WTCG – Chanel 17 (now WTBS) in Atlanta, Georgia, and WXLT – Chanel 40 in Sarasota, Florida. Mr. Rickard loved music and was a song leader in church as well as Mitchell-Hollingsworth.
