Mary Evelyn Williford Hill, 97, of Muscle Shoals, AL passed away April 24, 2023, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Williams Funeral Home in Florence from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM. A graveside service at Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery will be private. Brett Pittman will be officiating.

Evelyn was born in Crane Hill, Alabama as the fifth of six daughters to Edgar Romulus and Sarah Mettie Wood Williford. She was educated in Cullman County and received a Teaching Degree from Florence State Teachers College. Mrs. Hill was a long-time resident of Sheffield and a member of York Bluff Church. (Formerly York Terrace Baptist Church).

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her four older sisters. and her husband Omer Miles Hill, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Gregory Hill (Dona), Eric Hill (Janet) and Gina Pearson (Terry); Grandchildren Laney Marchbanks Radecki (Jay), Zoie E Hill (Zack Smith) Jacie K Hill, Bethany Pettus (Chad), Nicholas Pearson (Sydney); great-grandchildren Jack, Jon Brody, and Eli Pettus, Elliot and Graham Radecki, Hattie and Samuel Pearson, her sister Gilda Speegle and special niece Janice Haley.

The Family would like to thank the staff at Mitchell Hollingsworth and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.

In Lieu of flowers the family is sure Evelyn would appreciate donations to Saint Jude’s Hospital or the Colbert County Animal Shelter.
