Nicholas "Nic" David
Murphy

January 23, 1996 - August 9, 2023

Nicholas David Murphy, age 27, of Florence, passed away August 9, 2023. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 13, from 2:00 -3:00 pm at Underwood Baptist Church. A celebration of Nic’s life will start at 3:00 pm with Matt Beherhaus officiating. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.

He is preceded in death by his granddaddy “Diddy”, John David Bevis; and cousin, Brandy Nicole (Nikki) Murphy.

Nic is survived by his parents, Dwayne and Brayde Murphy; brothers, Wilson Murphy (Anna), Nathan Murphy; grandparents, Cathy Bevis Smoak (William-Bill), Larry and Sandra Murphy; cousin, Desmond Murphy, aunt, Edwina Murphy and special friend, Laeden Jeffreys.

He graduated from Central High School class of 2014 and excelled in baseball all through jr. high and varsity. He was a history buff, loved fishing, and loved his best friend-his dog “Ibra”. Nic was an avid sports and outdoors person. He loved gardening and growing flowers. He was good at it too! He loved fishing and spent a good deal of time outdoors walking with his dog Ibra.

He loved to read about history and subscribed to multiple podcasts to learn about it.

His biggest love was soccer. Goodness, did he love soccer. In fact, his dog “Ibra” was named after Zlatan Ibrahimovic his favorite soccer player.

He also had a fascination with exotic rare cars. He loved target shooting with his mom and was only a little bit better than her at it.

Nic excelled in everything he did, and I do mean EVERYTHING. He will be missed so very much.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. www.JDRF.org

  4. Dwayne, Brayde, Will, Nathan, Larry, Sandra and Ms. Smoak. May God’s Richest Blessings be with you in this time of pain and sorrow. Over the last few days we have talked together about how we loved to watch Nick play high school baseball at Central. He was so smooth as a hitter, defensive player and team-mate. Larry and I go back to our elementary days at Central–and that has been many years ago! Your Family has always been special to our Family. Just know that you are in our daily thoughts and prayers.
    We love you–
    Jack & Janet Harrison
