  1. Hearing of Harry’s passing was a hard blow. I’ve known him for about sixty years. He was in the eighth grade and I in the second, at St. Joseph. My family and I knew his Mom and Dad very well. I also served in the Florence Javcees with him.
Professionally, he was the best Juvenile Probation Officer I ever knew. I never got to work for him, but when I became a JPO, I tried to do it as he wanted me too. We’ll all miss him family, friends and colleagues, he was a great advocate for the children of Alabama. Rest well sir, and may God’s perpetual light shine upon him always…

  2. Dear Cousin Charlotte and family,
We are sorry to hear of the passing of your dear William. We turn to our Bible for comfort for as Christians, we have the blessed promise of the return of our Lord Jesus.
John 11:25 – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Psalms 116:15 – Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Wish we could be with you to offer a comforting hug and shoulder to lean on. We are however with you in spirit and love.

  4. I am so sorry for the loss of my friend Harry. He was a great friend and fine person. I will miss him greatly.
May God bless and keep Charlotte and the family.

  5. I am saddened to learn of Harry’s passing. His professionalism, knowledge and guidance made him an outstanding mentor to me and all his employees. He was the best boss I ever had. Apart from his work, he was devoted to Charlotte and his family. He will be missed by all for his knowledge and steadfastness. My condolences and sympathy to his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

  6. Charlotte, sorry in typing, I missed all of Harry’s name and ended up with just a portion of Williams. Our love to all of you, Cousin Becky Jo!

  7. I had the pleasure to know, and work with, Harry during my gone as a probation officer. If there ever was a tough job, being a probation and parole officer is one of the most demanding. The day I was hired I asked the supervisor on duty in Montgomery where to start to learn about “the job from hell”. He said “ get in your car and drive 30 miles up the road to and see Harry Williams”. I walked into the Lauderdale County Courthouse up to the fourth floor and to the very back to a small office. There sat a guy with a handle bar moustache , loosened tie, surrounded by a cloud of smoke That was the beginning of a relationship that lasted from that day to now, some 42 years. Everything I learned I applied as a probation parole officer, social worker and police officer .He was calm in a storm, smart as a whip, always willing to help and nice as peach cobbler with ice cream. I lost a friend; the state lost a legend. RIP Brother
