Ruby Louise Stanford Walker, age 92, of Florence, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Walker; daughter, Brenda Medley; George Ellis, III; sisters, Geneva Chittom and Joan Banks.
Survivors are her children, Janice Carole “Cookie” Michelsen (Gary), Marcia Ellis, and James Roy Walker, Jr. “Jimmy” (Holly); son-in-law, Freeman Medley; brother, Gerald Stanford (Mary Lee); grandchildren, Brent Medley, Brooke Edie, Kimberly Craft, George Ellis, IV, Cy Ellis, Meghan Walker, and Houston Walker. 11 great-grandchildren.
Louise was a caring mother and a loving neighbor.

Aunt Lucy was the absolute best. There was nothing better than when she came to visit. We always had such fun. I loved her very, very much.
I sure loved the time I spent with Mrs Walker. She was a jewel. She is home now resting well
Aunt Louise was a treat to have around,
Every visit was a barrel of laughs and good times. We were always excited to hear her stories about her and her family, who all have been a big part of my family’s life. Aunt Lucy will surely be missed, but I am sure is now with my mom laughing it up over what the rest of us should or should not be doing.
