George Lee Mills, age 65, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Visitation will be Sunday, December 10^th from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Jim Cassel officiating. Burial will be at Central Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Mayfield, Mark Miller, Michael Miller, Chris Burnett, Robert Miller, Christopher Cassel, Stephen Cassel and Christan Burnett. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryder Mayfield.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Augusta Mills; brother, James Mills; sister, Jean Wilkerson.

Survivors are his loving wife, Joy Mills; stepdaughter, Sabrina Mayfield (David); nephew, Chris Burnett (Sandy); sister, Elizabeth Burnett (Bruce); grandson, Ryder Mayfield; niece, Sherry Burnett.

He was self employed as a truck driver and was a volunteer fire fighter with Pinson, Tennessee, Cloverdale and Central, Alabama. In-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
