Jeffrey Jones Waddell passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Florence. A one-hour visitation will be Wednesday, April 10th from 11:00 – 12:00 noon at Center Star Church with the service starting at 12:00 noon. Brother Mike Cole and Brother Stan Pruitt will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Center Star Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Eric Blackstock, Mark Butler, David Gray, Jamey Cosby, Matthew Caperton, and Bo Waddell.
Jeff was preceded by his father, Edward Waddell, Sr., mother, Sue Waddell; father-in-law, Johnny Snoddy; and mother-in-law, Merle Snoddy.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Tammy Snoddy Waddell; children, Caleb Waddell (Rebecca), and Cambrie Waddell (David Smith). Additional survivors include grandchildren, Camden and Wrenley Waddell; brother, Edward Waddell, Jr. (Kristy); sisters, Kay Butler (Mark) and Sissy Hale.
Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Lauderdale County High School. He worked for International Paper for thirty-one years and worked for Calpine Morgan Energy Center for ten years. Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was an avid sports fan, especially everything Auburn and baseball. He loved being outdoors, taking care of the lawn, and making sure everything was perfect. He was a perfectionist in everything he did.
Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. Lamentations 3:32

Steve and I are deeply saddened by Jeff’s passing. Jeff was always the cute little brother to his siblings & The apple of his mother’s eye. We send our condolences, thoughts, and prayers.
