James Wayne Clanton, 80, of Florence, passed away August 21, 2024. Visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2024, at Williams Funeral Home of Florence from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 1:00 PM in the chapel, officiated by Redmond Talley. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ricky Veal, Darin Smith, Michael Lopp, Jason Veal, Andy Talley, and Colton Lopp.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Clanton, and his son, Tony Clanton.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Linda Clanton; his sons, Michael Clanton and Todd Clanton (LeAnn); his grandchildren, Kalee Russell, Mackenzie Clanton, Mattie Clanton, Ella Clanton, Lena Clanton, and Micaden Clanton; and his great-grandchildren, Braydn Wadkins and Scarlett Russell.
Wayne was a member of Lee Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching Alabama Football and cherished his time working with TVC, where he found a second family. Wayne took immense pride in his sons, they were the light of his life and found great joy in coaching his grandchildren, the best time of his life.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to Preferred Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care.

Linda , Todd and Michael: the Armstrongs are so sorry for you loss. We were like family when the kids were growing up. You all will be in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time.
Linda, we love you and are praying for the days ahead. Wayne was always so sweet to us and I can still see his feet tapping while sitting watching us linedance at Broadway!!
