Eugene “Gene” Edward Richey, 95, of Florence, passed away September 5, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, at Williams Funeral Home from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm with the service starting at 2:00 pm and Brother Henry Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Marquetta Jordan and son, Jerry McCullum.

Mr. Richey is survived by his precious wife of sixty-five years, Frances Rebecca Richey; sons, Mike Richey and Jimmy McCullum (Pam). Additional survivors include brothers, Raymond Richey (Myrtle) and Donnie Maskeri; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Richey was a dedicated veteran, having served in both the Army and Coast Guard during the Korean War. He worked as a pipe fitter and retired from Ford Motor Company. Above all, he was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a friend to many. His deep faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a long-time member of Faith Church. His legacy of service and love will be remembered by all who knew him.

  1. I will miss one of my best friends, brother Gene Richey, who I love very much is a good friend of mine also I am praying for Francis that God will comfort her heart and give her peace at this time of loss.

  2. Bro Rickey and Ms Frances always sat near the back on the right side of the auditorium at Faith. It was such a pleasure to sit close to them. I shall miss Bro Gene.

    I know you will miss his presence. It seems only yesterday that you and I were singing in the choir at Faith, I can see your face now always smiling and happy. But just know that your husband of great faith a God loving man is with Jesus. I love you.

  5. Mr. Richey was always such a kind and encouraging man. He lived his faith everywhere he went. He will be missed.

  6. I have known Gene for over Fifty Years. Never heard any one say a bad word about him and never heard him
    say a bad word abut anyone.. I appreciated his Friendship and his kindness was at the top for anyone he knew .
    I was an Electrician and worked many years with his brother Lester. I was blessed to have known the Richey Family.
