Judy Ann Shiers, age73, of Florence, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 – 1:00 pm at Central Community Cemetery. Rev. Steve Bender and Rev. Cameron Smith will be officiating.
Judy graduated from Northwest Shoals Community College with a degree in nursing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Shiers; father, Eldred Melton; mother, Annabel Melton; sister, Dinah Van Dielen; and sister, Penny Jeffreys.
Judy is survived by her children, James Sharp (Lori), Vicki Baxter, Brian Sharp, Angela Kelley (Brian); adopted children/grandchildren, Brian Shiers (Jennifer), Bradley Sharp (Lindsey), Brittany Hutto (Austin). Additional survivors include grandchildren, Tyler Sharp (Amber), Ashley Avery (Cody), Luke Baxter (Brittany), Savannah Kerr (Josh), Jasmyn Lawson (Ryan), Brielle Sharp, Trevor Kelley, and Trenton Kelley; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way. Siblings, Buford Eldred Jr. Melton (Linda), Callie Pitts (Joe), Nancy Wood (Johnny), Linda Lack (Jeff), Jeanette Smith (Cameron); and brother-in-law, David.
Serving as pallbearers are James Sharp, Brian Sharp, Brian Shiers, Bradley Sharp, Tyler Sharp, and Luke Baxter. Honorary pallbearers are Eldred Jr. Melton, Trevor Kelley, and Trenton Kelley.
