I remember meeting Shag, Mayvon and their family for the first time traveling to West Virginia and North Carolina to meet my father’s side, finding out also about having family in Tennessee. We were welcomed by friendly, warm, easy going people who made us feel very comfortable like we knew each other for ages. We had a wonderful time and visit that I will cherish the memories always! He told me I was his cousin once removed – I thought “what cousins once removed”? I still chuckle about being cousins once removed. I’m happy that the internet made it possible to find my father’s side of the family, meeting Shag and getting to know him and Mayvon.
We are sorry for your loss. Mr. Fields was a great man and neighbor.
