Joe D. Lorenzo, age 52, of Florence, passed away July 12, 2024. Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Church of Christ on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at 7:00 pm. in the church cemetery with Davey Wilson conducting the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Florentino “Flo” Lorenzo; nephew, Allen Smith; and his grandparents.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Rebekah Smith Lorenzo; children, Joseph, John Thomas and Jack Lorenzo; and his mother, Elaine Lorenzo. Additional survivors include sister, Dr. Michelle “Shelly” Surbrook (Scott) and their children, Laney and Elizabeth; nieces, Harley Smith and Danielle Bogus; and dear family in West Virginia.

Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and golf. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He loved to pick on people and laughter. Joe was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. Joe never passed up an opportunity to help others. In honor of his giving spirit, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wilson High School Athletic Booster Club or Cumberland Heights Treatment Center in Nashville, TN.
