June 12, 1942 - August 6, 2024

David John Keyser, retired minister, author, and man of God, passed from this earth to a better place on August 6, 2024.  He was born June 12, 1942, the son of Kenneth and Martha Keyser in Kittanning, PA.  Early in his childhood the family moved to Florida.  David’s life was a testament to his life’s work, an unwavering faith and dedication to his mission work and ministry for the Lord.  During his lifetime, he and Judith lived in Black Mountain, NC; Chicago, IL; Memphis, TN; Edinburg and St. Andrews, Scotland; Irondale, AL; Clayton, and Sheffield, AL.  David and Judith made numerous mission trips to Kenya and Mexico.

David was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Kay Inglese. David leaves behind Judith M. Keyser, his wife of 56 years, to whom he was totally committed. He also leaves a brother-in-law, Phil Inglese, of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law Barbara Jackson (Larry), of Memphis, TN; niece Leslie Inglese and her children Ashton and Alyssa Probst; nephew Marc Inglese (Melissa), and their children Logan, Graham, John Baldwin, and Paige Inglese; nephew Brooks Jackson of Greensboro, NC; nephew Tristan Jackson (Laci), and their children Coen and Graydon Jackson.

A learned man, David earned many degrees during his lifetime.  He had an undergraduate degree from the Citadel, Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, an MS from Loyola University of Chicago, Master of Theology from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD in Theology from the University of St. Andrews.

A memorial service was held on August 22nd.

  1. I’m sorry about David’s passing. I will miss our phone conversations. I was saved under his ministry at Clayton Presbyterian church in 1969. We kept in touch over the years. He was my mentor and a great bible theologian. I’m sorry I didn’t get to say good bye.
