Mary was born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland.  After graduating high school in 1947, she worked as a telephone operator and department store clerk.  In 1951, she joined the Air Force and was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi to train as a radio operator.  It was there she met her future husband, Curtis Cameron, who was also in the Air Force.  After marrying Curtis on June 30, 1952, she was discharged from the service and she moved with him to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  She also lived in California and later moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama in 1969. She and Curtis owned and operated many different businesses including Cameron Tile Company, Horne’s Drive-In, Seven C’s restaurant, Mr. C’s, and the Big Top Deli.  Mary was a very kind and loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and aunt.  She was passionate about raising her children.  Her family was the joy of her life.  She enjoyed reading books and the local newspaper.  She also loved crossword puzzles.  She loved to laugh, travel, play card games and be with family.  Her fiery wit and unbelievable knowledge of so many things will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her.  She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends, and we thank the Lord for allowing us to have her for so long.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who have helped her over the years. And a special thanks to everyone at the Pearl, her last earthly home.
