January 26, 1947 - January 19, 2025

Mary Sue Blevins, age 77, of Florence, passed away January 19, 2025. Visitation will be Friday, January 24th  at Williams Funeral Home from 11:00 – 1:00 pm with the service starting at 1:00 pm and Malcom Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Russ Bowling, Tommy Blevins, Harley Blevins, Tucker Blevins, Michael Staggs, and Chris Staggs. Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Holt, Frankie Holt and Tony Quillen.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren G. Holt; mother, Neva Holt; brother, Harold E. Holt; sister, Linda Faye Quillen; niece, Kimberly Shea Staggs; nephew, Lance Holt.

Sue is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Larry N. Blevins; children, Greg Blevins (Kathy), Leigh Butler (Mark), and Brett Blevins (Becky). Additional survivors include grandchildren, Russ Bowling (Carissa), Tommy Blevins (Natalie), Harley Blevins, Tucker Blevins, Kayla Blevins, Piper Connell; great-grandchildren, Bennett Blevins, Mae Blevins, Jane Blevins; several nieces and nephews.

Sue was a devoted follower of her Lord Jesus Christ and a proud member of the Baptist faith. She dedicated many years working at TG&Y and TJ’s. A passionate Alabama Football fan, she loved traveling and exploring new places. Above all, Sue cherished her family and friends, who were the center of her life.

Special thanks to her loving and devoted husband for his tremendous care and unconditional love for our mother, whose actions demonstrated the true character of Christ in his love for her and his family. Also thanks to Southern Care Hospice who went above and beyond to care for Sue and especially her nurses Amanda, Misty, Pam, and Carmen for your support during this time.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Fondly remember how much Sue and Jewel enjoyed “thrifting” with me when they visited Ashland.

  2. So sorry to hear of Mrs. Sue’s passing but who are we to keep her from her reward? Praying comfort for Mr. Larry and the family.
