Chanda Ruth Corkern, age 70 of Florence, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at her home.  Services will be held private.  Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Reed Corkern.

Chanda is survived by her son, Calvin “Tommy” T. Vise III (Karen).  One sister, Jamie Simpson (Brett).  And five grandchildren who she loved dearly: Austin Vise, Hannah Smith (Hunter), J.J. “Bubba” Vise, Abigail Vise and Lydia Vise.

Chanda is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and she very much enjoyed meeting with the ladies from the church once a month to eat and visit. She loved teaching her elementary students at numerous schools, not only education but life lessons. She loved her family and grandbabies beyond all measure.
