Susie Richardson Carpenter, age 86, of Florence, passed away on December 21, 2025. Services were held private.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orbie Lee Carpenter and her sister Joyce “Ann” Richardson Garland.

Susie is survived by her children, Marcus Carpenter (Rochelle) and Julie Carpenter. Five grandchildren: Curtis Patrick Thornton (Emilia), Nena Leah Thornton (Kyle Beer), Lindsey Carpenter Reed (Tanner), Christian Wolfe (Lilly), and Emma DeJong (Cody). Six great-grandchildren: Baylor Reed, Abel Villalobos, Bella Marie Thornton, Valeria Wolfe, Louisa DeJong, and Kolten Deen Thornton Beer. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Susie was a member of Elgin Church of Christ.  She served in the role of administration at NASA in Huntsville, Alabama between the years 1958 to 1974.
