January 28, 1942 - February 8, 2025

Joyce Ellen McGee, age 83, of Florence, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025. A graveside service will be Sunday, February 16th at 3:00 pm at Center Star Cemetery with Reverand Dwayne McDuff officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Winfrey, Christopher Berry, Patrick Roden, Dustin Rickard, Ian McGee, Benjamin McGee, Austin McGee, Dillon McGee, and Kyle McGee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Zahnd; husband, Richard McGee; son, Rico McGee; great-grandson, Patterson Berry; three brothers; and six sisters.

Joyce is survived by her children, Donna Berry (Mike), Jeff McGee (Pamela), Todd McGee (Suzanne), and Amy McGee Rickard. Additional survivors include sisters, Betty Eaton, Martha Butler, and Brenda Gail Clanton; brothers, John Thomas Zahnd, Jerome Zahnd, Martin Zahnd, and Arnold Zahnd; grandchildren, Kristin (Matt), Christopher (Chelsie), Ashton (Patrick), Dustin, Audrey, Kyle, Rachel, Austin, Dillon, Ian, Benjamin, Ansleigh, Logan, and Sierra; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Joyce retired from Family Dollar Store and cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Christian woman. Our heartfelt thanks go to Station 4 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth and Preferred Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

  2. I am so sorry for the loss of this woman. I prayed for all of her family, friend’s, neighbor’s and everyone who knew and Loved her for God to give all Peace and comfort them now and in all the day’s to come.
