Mayvon Selbe Fields, age 89, of Knoxville, Tennessee and Florence, Alabama, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025. There will be a private family service to celebrate her life. Williams Funeral Home of Florence assisting the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Shirley “Shag” Dean Fields, and by her parents, Theodore and Imogene Selbe; siblings, Betty Jean, Samuel, and Charles Selbe.

She is survived by her three children, Paula fields Dorsey (Joe), Pamela Fields Leitzell (Mike), and Joe Eddie Fields (Marie); five grandchildren, Kelly Finch, Carly Dorsey, Heidi Bishop, Jacob Fields, and Joshua Fields; two great-grandchildren, Harrison Bishop and Clara Bishop.

Mayvon was a secretary and bookkeeper at various businesses including YWCA, PolyPac Inc., Ravenswood High School, and the City of Ravenswood, West Virginia. She also served as Worthy Matron in the Order of Eastern Star.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. She enjoyed Bible Study, flower gardening and Bunco. Her greatest joy in life was her faith, family, and friends. She loved her husband “Shag” and especially loved spending time and making memories with her children and grandchildren. In-lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association
