Betty Jean Terry Walker, age 76, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Visitation will be Sunday, August 10^th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Stony Point Church of Christ. The service will follow at 3:00 pm at the church with Brother Brad Adcock officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.D. “Red” and Virginia Terry.

Survivors are her loving husband of 59 years, Leilus E. Walker; son, Lee Walker (Dixie); daughter, Stephanie Davis (Marold); sister, Margaret “Bobbie” Stockton; grandchildren, Brandon Davis (Rebecca), Ashley Smith (Jonathan), Dawsyn Walker, Logan Hill, Ashlyn Threet (Charlie), and Dylan Hill; great-grandchildren, Liam White, Posie Threet, and 4 nieces.

Betty began going to Stony Point Church of Christ when she was 5 years old. She and Leilus got married there when she was 16. They raised their two children there. They and their 2 children obeyed the gospel at Stony Point and later in life, both children had their weddings there. Both of her parents are buried there. When she and Leilus became empty nesters, they committed a lot of their time volunteering to work with the youth, and they took them on numerous outings. They always looked for opportunities to teach God’s word to the youth who they loved spending time with. Then, they began conducting personal Bible studies with hundreds of precious people who they loved so much. Stony Point Church of Christ remained a steadfast part of Betty’s life. Betty cherished every moment that she was able to spend with her grandchildren! She loved watching Brandon and Ashley play sports and she loved riding the carts at Walmart with Dawsyn. Later in her life, she cherished personal visits from her children, her grandchildren and her sweet nieces. Leilus remained her 100% love and caretaker.  she loved the sweet hugs she would get from all of her grandchildren. She loved the friendships she made in the hospitals and nursing homes. She cherished reading the Bible together and even doing Bible studies with several friends and family calling in on the same phone call. She deeply loved every pet she ever had. Her little service dogs blessed her life so much! She will be missed beyond words by many!
