Achille Dominic Presutti age 95, of Florence, passed away on February 1, 2026. Visitation and services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home of Florence, Alabama. Visitation will be from 12:30pm until 2:00pm with services at 2:00pm in the Chapel of the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will follow at Murphy Chapel Cemetery, where Achille will receive military honors and Masonic Rites.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dominic and Anastacia Presutti. His wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Como Presutti. One son, Achille “Kip” Presutti Jr. Six brothers: Joseph, Isadore, Camiel, August, Peter, and Domenic Presutti. Four sisters: Aldolphine Slattery, Laura, Marie, and Joanne. And a sister-in-law, Sandra Presutti.
Achille is survived by Seven children: Timothy Presutti, Tamara Weisgerber (Tom), Teresa Shultz (Joe), Sharon McCool (Micheal), Kathleen Birchfield (John), Randall Presutti (Carol), and John Presutti (Ellie). One brother, Robert “Bob” Presutti. Twenty grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Achille very much loved his 23 years he spent in the Navy, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He sailed around the world on one of his tours aboard the U.S.S. Daily DD-519, completing that journey on January 15, 1954. After retiring from the Navy he owned two Arco gas stations, one in Beverly and one in Salem, Massachusetts. In Beverly Massachusetts he was a member of the Union Club, the Italian Club, VFW, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He was a Master Mason with the Essex Lodge of Salem, Massachusetts. A member of the Scottish Rights in Salem and Boston Massachusetts, as well a member of the Shriners. After retiring from the Navy as a Chief, he worked 15 years Civil Service at Camp LeJune in Jackson, NC, where he retired again in 1996.
He loved his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He loved telling stories, especially those of his Navy ship adventures. He loved playing his harmonica and did so up until the last days.
