Mae’s light will shine on through the lives she touched and to those she loved. One being a precious little boy that she used to keep, Oakley Green, who gave her the name Mae Mae. She was always up for an adventure with her cousins, the four of them most recently known as “The 80’s Ladies “. She enjoyed reading, crafting and painting. Most of all she enjoyed giving away the creations she made.
Mae’s life was full. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She started her week on Sunday with church and the ladies in her HOPE SS class at Underwood Baptist. She loved the ladies and cherished their friendships. She looked forward to Monday night family potluck dinners where everyone enjoyed her famous fried apple pies. Friday lunches with her cousins would be followed with a lively game of Yahtzee. If it was a beautiful Saturday morning, chances are she was out looking for a bargain with her yard sale buddies. Sprinkled in during the week were countless conversations checking in on her family and friends, a number of them from Waterloo where she lived most of her life. If you dropped by her house, you might find yourself working on a puzzle or invited to join her painting in her beloved craft room. You were always welcome.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends which take comfort and joy in knowing they will see her again.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their loving care, especially nurses Anna, Amanda and Lily.
In-lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your favorite charity or Underwood Baptist Church missions or building fund.
