Carolyn Lavern Young Smith, age 83, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 8^th from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. There will be a private graveside at Oakwood Tuscumbia following. Pallbearers will be Colby Smith, Colt Smith, Carson Villalta, Wes Harris, and Chad Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Mattie Young, husband, Charles R. Smith.

Survivors are her daughter, Darlene Villalta; sons, Chris Smith (Belinda) and Chuck Smith (Alison); sister, Sue Alexander; grandchildren, Carmen Harris (Wess), Carson Villalta, Colby

Smith (Hannah), Colt Smith (Hannah), and Hattie Smith; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Wren Harris.

Carolyn was of the Baptist faith. She retired with Belk Company.
